Less Wrong meetups (deprecated)

Less Wrong members sometimes arrange meetups to meet each other in meat space. Some geographic areas have groups that do this regularly. This list also includes some virtual (online meetups), See Less_Wrong_meetup_groups#Virtual. Also see: Less Wrong meetup group resources.

Ann Arbor, MI

The Ann Arbor Area Amalgam of Rationalist-Adjacent Anthropoids has a Google mailing list and website.

  • Meeting are once or twice a month scheduled based on people's availability but typically on Sundays at the Panera Bread on Elmwood (765 Elmwood Ave) or the Panera on Main. Details are liable to change based on organizer's schedule. Visit FB group page for up to date information. The Facebook group also acts like a nice portal for sharing thoughts and asking questions, so feel free to join even if you don't think you can attend meetups.
  • We also host game nights about once a month based on people's availability. In the past we played board games. Currently we are playing a tabletop RPG.

Online Study Hall

This is a 24/7 virtual co-working space open to all aspiring rationalists. We have an active community of regulars and not-so-regulars from all continents, though the chat is most active during the European afternoon/evening.

The Study Hall is now fully independent from Tinychat! Try it out again if you were having technical trouble with the Tinychat platform.
