Rationalist fiction is a genre a fiction popularised by Eliezer Yudkowsky employed at length in Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. Eliezer was influenced by A. E. van Vogt's Null-A novels, Greg Egan's Distress, some of Lawrence Watt-Evans's strange little novels, the travails of Salvor Hardin in the first Foundation novel.[1]
