The LessWrong blog is by and large a "feed" of new reader-contributed articles of interest to the community, called "posts" (to emphasize the original content) or "threads" (to emphasize the discussion that most often stems from the posts). There are some threads which serve a special purpose, mostly recognized by tradition:
- Welcome to LessWrong! (2010): introduce yourself here if you are new (previous thread here)
- Where we are: a hierarchically organized thread so we can locate each other geographically
- Tell Us Your Rationalist Origin Story
- The Most Important Thing You've Learned, The Most Frequently Useful Thing, That You'd Tell All Your Friends
- Open Thread: this is posted monthly to collect "random" topics not deserving a whole post
- Quotes Thread: this is posted monthly to collect quotes of interest
- Issues and bugs: use this bug tracker to raise issues about blog's underlying software (open-ended discussion of suggestions is more appropriate in open threads)
- Here is some information about contributing to the LessWrong code base
- The Anti-Kibitzer script is a tool to avoid bias in your reading posts and comments
