I live in a small village in the middle of Israel. Married with 4 children.

I helped MIRI out as Research Associate from 2011-14, publishing, lecturing, and making connections in Israel.. I have worked as a software architect and development manager and am now pursuing my own venture. Earlier, I got a PhD in Semitic Philology at Harvard and a BA in Math from Brandeis.

I'm always glad to be contacted by interesting people. If you hang around LW, that probably includes you. So, feel free to send me a private message.

I have experience in some areas and might be able to help.

  • Software career, with sub-areas including coding, architecture, technical evangelism, etc.
  • Getting a PhD
  • Unschooling
  • Outreach on FAI (articles, lectures, meeting with relevant people, etc.)
  • Israel

I'm not looking for a job or hiring right now.

I'm interested in boosting person-to-person networking through LW, whether for business or personal purposes.

(See this post [1].)

I'll appreciate ideas on to make that happenb. One thing you can do is to post to your user page, like this.

Instructions: Edit your Wiki user page. For example, I would go to

http://wiki.lesswrong.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=User:JoshuaFox&action=edit
(replacing JoshuaFox with your user name).

Then, at your lesswrong.com profile page (e.g. lesswrong.com/user/JoshuaFox ), click "Force reload from Wiki,
