Would it be possible for you to set up a CRON job on the lesswrong server, to save a daily XML dump of the entire wiki, to a location where anyone can download it from? MediaWiki has a built-in export tool, but for some reason it doesn't have an easy way to get a dump of all the pages on the wiki. This xml backup would be useful for various cleanup scripts I would like to run.

I think the command to generate the XML backup should look something like this:

php wiki/maintenance/dumpBackup.php --current > /upload/daily_XML_dump.xml

These spam bots are getting really annoying. Some of them have finally figured out how to post spam to the wiki. Would it be possible for you to install one of the anti-spam extensions? The ReCAPCHA extension looks good. Another option is to add a checkbox to the user sign-up form asking "Are you a human?" that you need to check before it accepts the registration.
