Index to stuff I've posted (yes I know there's also an automatic list, but this way I can give additional information)

  • 2010-03-17 Overcoming the mind-killer in which I try to introduce my related work on Issuepedia. At least it didn't get voted down into the negative range.
  • 2010-08-26 Criteria for Rational Political Conversation was described as a "train wreck" in its original form, which I have preserved here for the morbidly curious; earlier drafts which I did not post on LW are here.
    • When I said "appearance is everything", the paragraph that followed was an attempt to explain something which is, I think, in agreement with what Yudkowski says here: "In principle, the world's stupidest person may say the Sun is shining, but that doesn't make it dark out. Even if an answer is suggested by a lunatic on LSD, you should be able to neutrally calculate the evidence for and against..." Only the argument, not the arguer, needs to be rational in order for the dialogue to qualify as rational.
    • I've adapted this post into an Issuepedia page which hopefully explains the context a bit better.
